These improvements were sustained at the second monthly assessment, and 78.1% and 56.1% of the patients reported better anxiety and sleep, respectively, compared to their prior visit.

Some patients experienced improved sleep because of the sedative effects of CBD. Other patients have a condition known as restless leg syndrome (RLS), which can disturb sleep by causing the involuntary movement of the legs that leads to waking during the night. CBD has been shown to decrease the frequency of abnormal nerve firings that cause RLS, thereby decreasing the symptoms that lead to waking.
